Preseason Game #1: Amerks @ Laker Erie Monsters

Tonight is the first preseason game of the 2009/2010 season for the Amerks who are heading to just south of Cleveland to play the Lake Erie Monsters.

What does this game mean?* It’s a chance for some players to show what they have.* It’s players that were either invited to camp or will probably be sent to the Florida Everblades.

If the Amerks lose it will have no impact on the regular season.* If they win the game we’ll talk about how well these kids played.

It’s not broadcast anywhere, so check back tomorrow for some type of report from the game along with a pregame report for the game at ESL Centre on Sunday night.

Not the fiercest of lineups thats for sure. I think our most experienced forwards are Collins and Sweetland.

Good old Amerks give up a goal with 4 seconds left to lose 2-1. Thankfully, almost that entire roster will be released or on the Everblades in another week.

They have them in but they're not going to use them / put names / numbers on them for a bunch of guys that won't make the team.

That and I'm sure they don't want debut them in front of no body at a community youth rink. If it was me I would just wear practice jerseys in the preseason.

Even going back to the days of Houda and Biron, they used to re-use sweaters from the prior year... No big deal.

Nice rink... Lakeshore is nice and all, but lets get ahold of ourselves.
