Hotham plays for the Everblades and has 31 points 60 Games.

The AHL lists him as a defensemen and hockeydb has him as a RW.

Well accourding to Hockeydb.com Hotham is not a defensemen and i think his stats prove that... He has 31 points in 60 games with the everblades.

Florida Everblades website says he's a defensemen. Appears to be a puck mover by looking at the stats.

I don't think the Weller thing has officially happened yet.

Duffy stepped up at the end of last season, maybe he'll do the same again.

I don't think these moves have anything to do with the Weller situation. The Amerks must need a couple d-men for today. Hotham has no connection to Atlanta or Chicago, so it's unlikely this is what we are getting for Weller.

This may be just temporary due to the Rory situation. Hate to see him injured, again, but glad to see him getting a rest. Those knee injuries come in flavors of not too bad, medium, and worst of the worst. Just not a durable guy all around. As far as Hotham goes, we need a "D", but not a puck mover. We need one who can protect the puck in his own zone, hammer bodies, and kick the living crap out of dudes who mess with our goalies. Oh, yeah, Mac is supposed to do the latter. "Groo" must have put the clamps on that activity, or maybe Cippie????? Yesterday, Mac should have "Yabo'd" Ben Simon.

On the Simon issue... WTF. You have this waste of a roster-space on this team for this very reason...

Ok... Take it for what its worth, a couple of other NHL franchises have selected Rochester for as a place they would like to loan some players to get playoff experience.

How does this work against the Panther's roster limit? Ours is limitless, but do loaned players count against it?
