no wonder no one goes to Marlies games

Just looking to get tickets for the March 27th game and seats in the center sections are $43 for lower and $35 for upper bowl (with svc fee's). holy crap. who the hell wants to pay that much for a minor league hockey game to sit in decent seats? Only the die hard I guess.

I wouldn't pay that for an NHL regular season game myself. I'm Mr. Minor League.

Bucky,

For the Toronto market that is a bargain compared to trying to get Leaf tickets

http://www.ticketmaster.ca/event/100...4&minorcatid=9

Ranging in price from 34-432 per seat if you can get them.

That's not too far off what they ask for in Bridgepo' either. ROC really has it good in terms of value/quality of life.

but for the quality of hockey--it isn't worth it. And the fans in Toronto and Montreal are not interested in AHL brand hockey---from the get-go. So, I think its a lot of money to spend, to watch uninteresting hockey--in a hockey environment that really isn't into AHL hockey.
I know I'd never spend that much to see an Amerks game...ever.

Re: no wonder no one goes to Marlies games

The Toronto fans are willing to pay just about anything to see a Leaf game so those prices high buy our standards for AHL hockey is about right for that town.

They have to compete against many junior A teams in the area though at lower prices so I am sure that plays into their small crowds.

I would for the playoffs, but not the regular season.

DAve--they love their Leafs and they love junior hockey. They do not love AHL hockey...and the small crowds and high ticket prices bear that out in spades. It was exactly the same in Montreal. AHL was a disaster. But the V's were a hot item in Halifax...at least for awhile they were.

Eric--I'm not sure I'd pay $45 even for the playoffs. perhaps game 7 of the finals you could convince me.

Gluey--yeah, I'm pinching pennies these days! Monday I get new xrays and hopefully the green light to start putting a little weight on the leg. It has been a long haul....with the weather getting better, I'm getting antsy. I'm getting tired of my walker...but for now, it does help me get around some. thanks for asking.
