Huh? The Amerks are further away from the breakeven point than the Knighthawks. The Knighthawks made money last season. The sky isn't falling. Might it someday? Sure. But, NLL attendance isn't exactly going through the roof -- with formerly rock solid teams like Toronto (barely topping 10K) and Philly (not topping 10K) at pretty low levels. Right now, if the Knighthawks can't make it, the league is in big trouble. But the good news is they are well within striking distance of their breakeven once again.

I understand they only play eight home games but, tell me how are you going to take a family to a game?
Barney says "use your imagination". Get a few friends to join you. 10 people get a group rate. I've been doing this for 3 years. Sit in the corners and get tics for $17.00(group). Sight lines are good all over the arena (except for the rafters).
Do you take your family to dinner, skiing, vacations??? Really it's not much more than an Amerks game. You can't go to EVERY game, but seriously........................

Yeah. Boston game may be challenging. However, has anyone ever tried calling the main office and "negotiating" tic prices??? You may be surprised what you can get with a little arm twisting. They are quite aware that empty seats don't generate revenue. They're kinda like empty hotel rooms. Get a fair sized group together and do some arm twisting. The heck with the walk up window!!!

I do not have kids yet, not until June. I am just saying I personally think the tickets are over priced sorry that is my opinion. Plus I am not a real big lacrosse fan anyways.

Chuck! Baby! Don't go all fatalist on me. Instead...............why don't you join our little group of crazies for the Boston game?
I have William Shatner and NoFee working on good seats as we speak.

Attendance is down ALL OVER and in EVERY LEAGUE this year. Remember people........there are a LOT of people out of work and others planning for hard times.
However..............we can't all just stop living. I'm cutting back this year, but I'm NOT going to hide under a blanket!

Who knows what happens down the road. Maybe the league will fold some day. Let's enjoy it while we got it!

Re: Orlando Titans

I know I'm probably driving you all nuts here, but.......................here's a little example of how to get things rolling.

I mentioned that I was going to send my sis and a couple of her neighbors to the Titans/Hawks game. Well, I did. They had a great time and are spreading the word within their community. Today I got an e-mail wondering how they could get a hold of Steve D and get a couple players to show up at a community event. It's just kind of a picnic type affair, but loads of kids and families are there every year.
That event alone could benefit the team greatly.

You want your teams to succeed?? Get involved. The teams are not unapproachable.

Re: Orlando Titans

sleddog you bring up a good point and that is what I have been saying you can't go to every game. Alot of Rochester sports fans are proablely like Buffalo sports fans going to multiple sports teams games there is only so much you can go too.

When Buffalo had the two extra sports teams the Buffalo Blizzard and Buffalo Destroyers my weekends were very busy. Because I had season tickets with the Buffalo Bandits, Buffalo Blizzard and Buffalo Destroyers but the casual sports fan isn't going to be like that. There are simply too many sports teams in the Rochester market place like there was in Buffalo in my opinion.

There was only so many Buffalo Super Fans in Buffalo and I would suspect there are only so many bdaly super Rochester sports fans in Rochester. The one thing the Rochester Razorsharks have over the Knighthawks and Amerks is the cheaper walk up single game ticket the other two winter teams might want to look at that.

I understand with the Rochester Knighhawks the single game ticket is high so it encourages the Rochester sports fan to by a season ticket I get that. But it is something that maybe the Rochester Knighthawks might want to look at. I feel in Buffalo the Buffalo Bandits cheapest walkup single game ticket is $23 for 300 level is very high for a second tier sports league so hockey 13 has a good point in my opinion. The walkup game single game ticket in Buffalo I feel is high so that could be the case for the casual walkup fan in Rochester I don't know but it is something to think about.

Buffalo gets it's attendance numbers by season ticket levels. Our whole 100's and 200's the lower bowl of HSBC Arena are soldout. What Rochester Knighthawks need to do in the offseason is get there season ticket base higher. To do that you need to one look at the ticket prices for the casual fan and two get the business community and corporate community more involved with buying tickets for there clients in my opinion. That can be done but the Rochester Knighthawks have to be more aggressive in the Rochester sports market place. As for the NLL I don't think the league is in great shape attendance is down in many places even in Buffalo so that is a concern for the NLL. Let's Go Buffalo
